4 calls for virtual mobility grants are about to be open! Please find below the description of what our Action is looking for:

Profile 1: VM Grant taking care of the organization of webinars aiming at the dissemination of the SUSTAIN Action working groups activities. Tasks of the VM: organization, advertisement and management of 5 webinars aiming at the divulgation of the SUSTAIN COST Action’s working group activities. Preparation of the homepage/social media adverts/post related to the webinars, recording and uploading to a YouTube channel of the COST Action.

Profile 2: We are looking for a person that can contribute to Task 2.7 and that, building on the VM Grant of 2024, will populate an open access database with promising indigenous and under-utilised crops, salt tolerant lines and crops of different crops. Profile 2 will interact with profile 3. The objective of this Virtual Mobility is to integrate the eHALOPH API into the existing SUSTAIN database to enhance its plant species search and selection functionality.

Profile 3: Building on the VM Grant of 2024, we are looking for a person who can support the development of the application programming interface (API) for eHALOPH that would facilitate the transfer of relevant information held in eHALOPH to any database developed by SUSTAIN’s WGs 2 and 3.

Profile 4: VM Grant developing salinity-related initiatives for the task 4.1. of SUSTAIN. We are looking for a person willing to co-create a living map with existing initiatives on salt-affected areas to show the main hubs for research and activities on saline agriculture. The initiatives will be added to Saline Agri Map (https://www.salineagrimap.com/) managed in partnership with VU Amsterdam, SUSTAIN COST Action, Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP) and Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP).

Salinisation, the accumulation of water-soluble salts in the soil, is one of the major causes of soil degradation affecting 833 million hectares of land and 1.5 billion inhabitants worldwide. However, these lands can be used by applying saline agriculture, involving soil, water and salt-tolerant crop management methods.
