SUSTAIN Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the SUSTAIN project (CA22144) will be held in 2026 at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (Portugal) for two days (18-19 May 2026). It is a key event that brings together all members for collaboration and knowledge exchange. The program features Working Group presentations, interactive sessions, and poster presentations showcasing ongoing research. A dedicated stakeholder workshop will foster dialogue between researchers and external partners, while the Management Committee (MC) meeting will review progress and plan future activities.

This meeting is an essential opportunity to strengthen networks and advance the objectives of the Action.

The meeting will produce an abstract book and a report on the activities carried out.

Applications for the joining the annual meeting will start on 12th of January, 2026.

Applications for joining the annual meeting  has started.

The review process will be conducted by a team of SUSTAIN (CA22144) COST Action members of the Annual Meeting Scientific Committee. Early Career Investigator is defined by COST as “An individual who is within a time span of up to 8 years from the date they obtained their PhD/doctorate (full-time equivalent)”.

The deadline for responding to this call is 1 March 2026.

Salinisation, the accumulation of water-soluble salts in the soil, is one of the major causes of soil degradation affecting 833 million hectares of land and 1.5 billion inhabitants worldwide. However, these lands can be used by applying saline agriculture, involving soil, water and salt-tolerant crop management methods.
