Call for next year annual meeting, training school and workshops

Call for next year annual meeting, training school and workshops

Dear SUSTAIN members,

It is with great pleasure that we now open the call for the 2026–2027 events. Those will mark the closing of this COST Action, so we will aim to make this final period as successful and memorable as possible, and to end on a strong note.

The events should be organised in line with the following requirements:

  • Due to the budget design and other procedure activities, please note that all the activities can start only after 1 January 2027 and finish before 15 September 2027.
  • It would be useful to indicate more than one proposed dates for the events in your proposal. This flexibility will allow us to better organize the event calendar.
  • The location is limited to member countries, cooperating countries and near neighbouring countries (see COST Annotated Rules)
  • Ideally, there is a possibility to have a meeting next to a field-related conference to allow for the synergies or another COST Action.
  • Ideally, there is a possibility to organise a training school before/after the meeting
  • Site visit to a salt-affected land is an added value.

As in previous years, at the end of the call period, we will give each applicant the opportunity to present their proposal to the Core Group (CG) at an online meeting. Following these presentations, the CG members will be given time to evaluate all applications. Once the evaluation period is complete, we will announce the events selected for the following year.

To apply, please follow the link and submit the template provided, completed with the necessary information, before 30 July 2026

Lastly, if you wish to suggest any particular topic for the Training Schools/Workshops, please do not hesitate to email us.

In case of any questions, please contact  the Training School Coordinator Eleftheria Dalmaris via [email protected].

Looking forward to your applications!

Best regards,

COST Action CA22144

Salinisation, the accumulation of water-soluble salts in the soil, is one of the major causes of soil degradation affecting 833 million hectares of land and 1.5 billion inhabitants worldwide. However, these lands can be used by applying saline agriculture, involving soil, water and salt-tolerant crop management methods.
